April Match Report

No foolin’, it was a most excellent day of shooting yesterday at Plum Creek on April Fools Day. Yes, the rain held off and 57 shooters came out and joined us to blast through 6 stages of Cowboy Action Shooting written by yours truly. Bronco Birnbaum made it out to shoot with us. It was good to see him returning after his health issues. Arty Fly and his son came out after a long absence to shoot with us as well.

We also had some new-to-our-range shooters with Quaker Hill Bill and Appaloosa Amy visiting from Connecticut. They took a break from watching their daughter compete in an international skeet and trap competition in San Antonio to bust some caps with us. Great people and good shooters. As I told them, come back any time. We also had Z Lone Gun and another gentleman whose name I did not get who had their first experience with the Plum Creek Shooting Society. Hope they enjoyed it and will come back soon.

We had 7 clean shooters: Alamo Andy, Circuit Judge, Gold Dog, Long Juan, Preacher Kid, Skyhawk Hans, Spread’n Lead.

Our overall men’s champion was Preacher Kid; our ladies’ champion was Diamond Kate. The top ten, starting with one, were Preacher Kid, Alamo Andy, You Bet, Big Iron Patnode, Diamond Kate, Skyhawk Hans, Kickshot, Spread N’ Lead, Appaloosa Amy, and Fairbanks Sam .

Results are posted on the Scores page. Our next shoot will be May 6. Hope you can join us then. See ya’ at the Agarita!
